Ready-to-bake recipes

Over fifty recipes to start from — sandwich loaves, artisan breads, sourdough, enriched doughs, flat breads, quick breads and pancakes. Pick a size and every weight is worked out. Filter by bread, flat breads or other, and by yeast, sourdough or quick.

Your own recipe library

Save your own recipes, or your version of any of ours, and change them whenever you like — update them or save a new one. Share a recipe with a link, and discover recipes other bakers have shared, each one reviewed before it is listed.

Baker's percentage calculator

Every ingredient as a percentage of the flour, with weights worked out for you. Change the flour weight, the hydration or any percentage, and the whole recipe follows.

Step-by-step baking plans

A baking plan written for your exact formula, your level (beginner, intermediate or advanced) and the time you have. It follows your own notes and adds seeds, olives, butter and toppings at the right moment. (Pro)

Bake mode with timers and alerts

Follow the steps as you bake, with step timers, a reminder to check your dough during the first rise, and an alarm that rings until you stop it while the app is open, plus an alert with the phone locked (on iPhone, once the app is on the Home Screen). The screen can stay on while you work.

Sourdough maths done right

The flour and water inside your starter count towards the flour total and the hydration — not the starter's whole weight. Set your starter's own hydration, switch a recipe between yeast and sourdough, and use sourdough discard.

Baking journal

Every bake you finish is saved on its own — the date, the recipe and the formula you used — and you add notes during the bake and after: how the dough felt, what the crumb was like, what to try next time. (Pro)

Share it your way

Send a recipe to WhatsApp, X or Facebook with a proper preview, post a picture card made for Instagram and Status, email it, or print the whole recipe with every step to bake from paper.

Water temperature and preferments

A dough-temperature (DDT) calculator for the right water temperature, and poolish, biga, sponge and pâte fermentée preferments built into the formula.

Nutrition and allergens

Nutrition per loaf and per 100 g, and the major allergens in each recipe, worked out from the ingredients.

Made for every kitchen

Grams and percentages, °C or °F, beginner to advanced. Works in any browser and can be added to your home screen like an app on Android, iPhone and desktop.

Your own baking vessels

Save your tins, pots and trays with the flour weight that fills each one. Pick one and any recipe scales to fit; new recipes start from your favourite.

Questions

What is a baker's percentage?

It's how bakers write recipes: every ingredient is a percentage of the total flour weight, which counts as 100%. 70% water means 700 g of water for 1 kg of flour. It makes any recipe easy to scale and compare.

Does LoafOfMyLife work for sourdough?

Yes. It counts the flour and water inside your starter in the flour total and the hydration, lets you set your starter's hydration, and plans the starter feed in the baking steps.

Do I need to install anything?

No — it runs in your web browser. You can add it to your home screen to use it like an app. On iPhone, timer alerts with the phone locked need it added to the Home Screen.

Is it free?

There is a free plan with the recipes, the calculator and your recipe library. Pro adds step-by-step baking plans written for your recipe, a Baker's Journal, baking several loaves at once and more.

How do I get access?
